Wow! Took me more than a week but I finally completed Pandora Hearts.
Now what does that tell you?
Ok.. I admit I wasn’t in the right mindset when I placed a deposit for a ActSta 1/8 Subaru Nakajima a few months back. But no use thinking about it now right? Lol…
Among the other things I did in the past 3 days were these. HDR Photography… although it isn’t really apparent in my pictures below. But I guess it pass for a first time.
Also looking forward to trying out some Lomopgraphy as per klu[x]‘s blog next chance I get.
I’m back! Was back since Monday night actually, but loads of sunburn convinced me I needed to lie on the bed with minimal movement while I shed skin. Lol.
Feeling that Figma’s Kagami “Miku” never got enough love for a while now, I decided to bring her along for the trip. Initially I thought of bringing Revoltech’s Patlabor Alfonso along, and the idea of Figma’s Koizumi scheel uniform crossed my head too, but both would feel a little out-of-place. So in the end, decided to stick with Kagami.
Anyone noticed a problem with my pictures yet?
All the backgrounds are blurred. I know that I should increase the Aperture to take an overall clear pic. But seems like I need a tripod for that as all my photo’s come out all blurry. Lol.
Feel free to drop by my personal blog@Blur’s Crib for more “personal” pictures of the trip. But a pre-warning, lots of topless shots of me and some other blokes. It is NOT a pretty sight. -.-”
Got a new cam on Saturday night. Thanks to compulsive buying and Wayne, a retarded friend. LoL!
It’s a Sony A300. Funny thing is, I’ve never been a fan of Sony… Well, except for Ps2. But they have the cheaper camera kits to start off your photography. And I needed something CHEAP. :p
Not long after I returned home and turn on the Pc Razrig@Baka-Steam messaged me to see if I wanted to go for a photo shoot or something the following day. Lol !Talk about perfect timing!
So I tagged along, took some photos as he taught me quite alot of stuffs. I also found out that I suck at remembering roads. -.-”
Editing the Raw files of the photos was another part of the fun with photography; as I fiddled around to see what I can squeeze out of it. The toughest part for me during editing was to decide if I wanted to
1) sharpen everything and lose the smoothness of the color or
2) leave it as it is, giving a more natural feel but slightly blur pictures.
In the end, I decided to sharpen everything. And probably will keep doing so until I learn how NOT to take out of focus shots. :p
Feel free to imagine your own captions. I’m all out of brain power. Lol!
Not bad for my first photo session with my new A300 eh… :p
*If you could only see how big my head is now :p*
Nendoroids and Mikuru’s were courtesy of Razrig for the photoshoot. I only brought the figmas.
Finally, I’m posting about my G.A.C.C. loot. Nothing much, just some animes I have yet to watch , doujin works, figures and a badge. I don’t know why. Funny thing is, among everything there, I love the badge the most. Lol!
For now, here are some pictures of Konami’s Asuna. It was very cheap I’d say, but you get what you pay for I believe. And see the numerous amount of flaws on this Konami figure. The obvious glue marks, seam lines, blur lining, etc. etc.
But hey, it’s Negima! Got to represent! Lol!
Anyone noticed something different with the pictures yet? Yeah, started watermarking em. I don’t mind people using them to be honest, my pictures are as shitty as it can get. But I figured it would help Anime3R a little on the promotion side. -.-”
*Now excuse me while I crank the volumn up and indulge myself in some Coldplay… Life in Technicolor to be exact*
If you are looking for some cosplayers pics, please come back tomorrow or the day after. I rather talk about the trip and the live performances at G.A.C.C. today.
First off, thanks to Razrig and the guys for having me tag along to G.A.C.C. all the way across the state. Met up with very interesting otakus like Razrig, Ikman, Linkin, Misao, Quazacolt, Eg and Fenrir; and later on E-jump and Wisefreeman. I’m pretty sure someone would be blogging about G.A.C.C. by now, so instead of that, I’ll be writing about the trip first, from the views of a 2nd time convention go-er, as mundane as it is (Hey! It’s my blog! :p) Yes, I’m hiding behind the noObie label again and taking the easy way out… :p
And later on, about the live performance which KICKS ARSZE!!!
Now back to the trip.
Razrig picked me up on Friday night 7pm or so. Met him, Ikhman, and Linkin for the first time and off we went towards Melaka. Got to know each other better as we chat on about animes, conventions, figures, more animes.
*Note to self: You KNOW you’ve got to watch more animes when you don’t know more than HALF the series everyone is talking about
Journey was over before we knew it. Arrived at the designated point and we reached our apartment for the next 2 days in a flash. Spent a few hours fiddling around and had a good time laughing at the cordless Wii that linkin brought. Lol!
Misao reached with EG, Fenrir and Quazacolt at 2am plus. Got a short drink, Linkin molested some cats, and back to the apartment we went. Apparently, A cat is fine too (Inside joke.. :p). Being the “new” guy, I was just sitting around, being “awkwardly” quiet as I try to get to know everyone better. Time: 4am; Repeat Stage: Awkwardly quiet; and off to bed I go. Everyone else was still chatting, doing some gunplay… basically just chilling.
9am! The time has come! Woke up, prepare again chill a little before we went for breakfast and head on down to MMU. If I’m not mistaken, we reached there about 10.30am or so. What followed was a terrible wait which lasted till 12pm. G.A.C.C. was supposed to start at 11am mind you. However, I won’t make too much of a noise about it. Just making a fact that it was a shitty wait. Not in a flaming mode I guess. Well, never was much of a flamer. What was I talking about again?
Oh ya, I’m not going to bitch about the long wait because it was super freaking crazy worth it. Remember this line I just said for later reference.
12pm, doors open and in the crowd goes. Another thing about the door gifts for the first few entrees disturbs me. But again, I won’t mention it cause it’s not worth my effort to think or write about it more than I’ve already have. It’s something miniscule I guess. And now, from something small I’ll move on to talk about something big.
Hot mascot! I hope to one day get a mascot like that for Anime3r
Did you know that you are not suppose to expose dolfie to flashes? The lady behind the booth was shouting “No flashes No flashes” When a few photographers were taking pictures of the dolfie. Luckily, my camera doesn’t use flash. The flash sucks. lol!
And the live performance was BIG! FREAKING HUGE! Listening to the bands, I had a BLAST! Capitalize every fucking word! Even the exclamation mark too! Arigato! :p
All these performances were not those half assed attempts to pass time mind you. It really really rocked! And I think sitting barely 5 meters away from the speakers had something to do with it. Lol!
Yeah Yeah… I know you are bored of my long post by now… So here are some videos!
Without further a due,
ChiChi and the Hentai Boys!
ChiChi and the Hentai Boys! Special Appearance by Mystery Cosplayer X! (Lol!)
By the way.. Can anyone tell me the name of this song? Thanks in advance!
And the l33ts among elitesz!
I bring you… Zeolite
Unfortunately, I had a problem uploading the next 2 songs they played. So I’m gonna push it to my next post guys. Goh Meh Goh Meh!
Also not forgetting Kawai Sakura… *Video not by me
By the way, I’m not blogging chronogically. I’m posting whatever shit I want, whenever I want. Why?! Cause I’m turning EMO! Lol… Just joking.
Truth is, I kind of forgot which band played on G.A.C.C. day 1 and which band on day 2. So I guess I should just post things by category rather than by event day as per usual blog practice. I just enjoy making imaginary excuses. :p
Oh… and yet another thing, this part of the post could have been on top. But I just had to make kluxorious wait. Lol! :p
GACT Vision was one of the booths at G.A.C.C. and had these for sale. I asked them for some info. Found out that they do online transactions and got their contact. All I hope now is that it’s something you were looking for.
Finally got off my lard-butt and completed this display. Although will “improve” with time as I give it more snow. For now, sore fingers means I’m gonna stop for a while. And being all excited! I’m gonna post this up first. Lol!
Sore fingers, a packet of energy drink, and 3 episodes of Majo Saiban later
Next display I’ll be fiddling around with.. will be “A little green” for Miss Nagi-san.
MuaHaHAhaHAhaa! And so completes my second collection!
Was lucky enough to be able to back-order a Mikuru Gekisou Version. And now, do allow me the courtesy to suck your bandwidth dry!
Woot! Woot! 90% completion for my tiny project. By the end of the pictures, you will probably notice that I no longer stick to the original idea of making an exact copy of the video from the song God Knows anymore. Mainly because I’m lazy. For the last 10%, I’ll need to get someone who can write up some nice kanji’s for the yellow banner at the background.
Got my curtains done
Noticing that the side’s were a little empty. I thought of putting my other characters from the series in, but I didn’t want a guy (Koizumi) there. Was trying to make it an all girls party. So I unplug and switched his head. UUrrggh… Ugly P.O.S. Went with original Koizumi in the end.
Some stupid videos I made. Just the same thing but with background music. One guess to what that music is. Lol!
Yes, I freed Nagi from the confinement of the plastic and paper we call a box. And returned her to the wild. But instead, she decided to stay with me, a humble commoner, and join my legion of wai-fus.
Finally got the figure I’ve always wanted. Although I never mentioned it here. Lol!
FRREEing Nagi from Kannagi.
I like the simplicity of it. Nothing too fancy. But that’s also a downpoint if you look at it another way. The scariest bit is how her pose leans her backwards. Very likely to be a leaner in the future. And to answer some doubts… Yes, Her skirt can be taken off. And No, I won’t take a picture of her skirt-less.. not yet anyway. Lol!
The photo’s aren’t that satisfactory. Was still learning on how to take cloudy shots when my neighbor had some visitors drop by, so I’d call it a day for that photo session. Will try again.
And tempted at Zange too now. But still considering. Also considering the Neko version.
*Looking at empty wallet*
Woot! I got me a drum kit for my mini project!
Unfortunately.. It’s too big. Lol! With a little ignorance, I could “pretend” it’s the right size. :p
I’ve also decided not to include figma Tsuruya as the drummer or basist and instead, just let Fraulein Asahina be the drummer. Why? Cause my d.i.y. stage only fits 3 figures. -.-”
Meanwhile here are some other shots. Always had these shots lying around at my desktop waiting for the right time to post. So I’ll just dump it here and clear off my backlogs. :p
Was actually trying to get the effect of the shot below from Razrig. But to no avail. LoL!
A celebration of Japanese Modern Visual CUlture.
11~12 July 2009
The Grand Hall @ Multimedia University, Cyberjaya
Phew! Getting there was a little tricky. Made 2 illegal u-turns before finally finding that place. Bad signboard positioning along the road didn’t help either. I wonder if the Signboard people actually bothered to check in the first place? Anyway…
This being my first ever anime convention, I was expecting to go home at the end of the day with a whole lot of loot. I was planning to buy Imported Anime Magazines, Figures, and a big banner if I came across one I liked. Unfortunately, they didn’t have anything I wanted.
This event definitely needed more vendors. I finished seeing everything in the hall in under 15 minutes. Thankfully the entrance was free, so that kept me calm and cool. But not for long. As the maid cosplayers walked around the hall, I found it pretty hard to concentrate on anything else. Lol!
There wasn’t enough drink stalls there definitely, as a vendor/sponsor arrived late in the afternoon, about the time I was leaving -.-” The queue got pretty long at one point and I had to wait for 20 mins or so just to get a drink.
But those were just minor rantings. At the end of the day, I had ALOT of fun. It was something of a mini trip for me, being able to take a short drive with friends and hang out with them. As I tested them on guessing which songs came from which anime along the way. :p
There were 2 main highlights for me at Daicon. And will be the reason why I am looking forward to attending any future conventions of similar interest.
1st of, most obviously, would be the cosplayers. *Salutes*
I had no idea cosplaying in Malaysia has reached such a high level. The only image of cosplaying in my mind which stuck from a few years back was someone wearing a hood and wielding a sword in a casual attire.
But at Daicon, Wow! Fully costumed Mio (K-on), Himura Kenshin, Kabuto (Naruto), Neil (Bleach), Haruhi Suzumiya (Sorry razrig, no Yuki today.. Maybe tomorrow? :p ), and so much more… and a whole lot of maids too ^^”. Not forgetting the Gundam head man. :p In fact, now I’m thinking of something simple I can slip into for the next convention. Nothing overly complicated, I’m don’t intend to join any cosplay competition, just something like a hat or a cloak which I can just slip on and have fun with for the day. :p Ideas anyone?
2nd would be the karaoke session. Yeah sure, not all the contestants were good. But Hey, got to give them credit for trying right? Love it when they sing the songs I know, which isn’t a whole lot. :p Only 2 songs I know that were picked were Black Paper Moon from Soul Eater and Triangle from Macross Frontier.
A little thought to share with you guys for your next convention. FOr me, it’s alright to laugh a little if the singing gets terrible, but always send the contestants off with a round of applause. Hey! They took their time and effort to keep YOU entertained. Some dude sitting behind me was so freaking sarcastic “OMG!” “Wow! That’s bad!” “You sure you can sing that song?” and all those crap. I turned around and wanted to give him the “stare”. But once I found out he was way bigger than me, lol, I turned back. -.-”
Erm, do forgive the low quality videos. My hand was shaking from me being slightly sick and my Lumix Fs-7 ain’t exactly meant for videos.
Yet another compilation of bandwidth-sucking videos brought to you from yours truly. :p
Kodomut would have loved this
The pictures are a little bandwidth heavy, so I’m gonna split them up into 2 posts. But all the karaoke videos will be here except for one. Do check out the next karaoke competitor as “Danny Choo takes over the World”. Click here to view the continuation of the report.
This post continues from here. <–More pictures and videos in link. Among the contestants taking part in the karaoke contest at Daicon, was this interesting fella. In a trooper suit. Sure! He isn’t no Danny Choo. But walking by, he could have fooled anyone right? Lol! Indeed he was among the most cheered contestant of the day.
So would you agree with me now? DannyChoo is indeed taking over the world, culture wise that is… :p
Update: Did some surfing around. Woo.. Cool!
I didn’t know there was a dannychoo.com.my.
Woot! Woot! Another day, another knowledge.
The Trooper was actually Commander Chaos played by Solomon a.k.a. WiseFreeman which I found out from Quazacolt.
And before any haters post anything, yes, He was airing the guitar. And I’m not trying to help a friend get famous or anything, I don’t even know who he is. I’m just admiring his otaku spirit.
With this post are also rest of the photos from that day. And also I realize a stupid mistake I made, I reeeaaally shouldn’t be in the pictures right? Lol! Kind of spoiled the atmosphere of the cosplayers. -.-”
And as the day ends, I can officially say that I now have a fetish for maids! Lol!
Thanks for reading!
All the while I was expecting the Sakurai sisters from Candy boy to be my very first PVC figure. But browsing around few days back, I came across the Haruhi Gekisou Version which I wanted pretty bad when it was still under pre-order months ago but later got sold out before I could get my hands on one. I think I wasn’t into PVC at that time. Lol! My compulsive byuying then took over again and I went into otaku-mode. *snap*snap* *blinks eye* and now here they are.
Now if only I can get my hands on an Asahina to complete my collection. Lol! Crossed fingers in today’s Daicon. My first time going to an anime convention. In this post of my first PVC ever. ;p Double-Combo suggoi!
Below are some wallies I made, I was making em for myself then I thought why not share the love. It’s basically just a resize and crop of the original images. But it’s still bigger than the pictures above. Cause I didn’t downsize it too much.
