Been rather free at work for the past 3 days. Thought I’d stop making display boxes and started gathering some materials for my God Knows scene recreation.
Hmm. Looks like I’m doing ok for now. Gathered almost all the materials I need. From now on is the hard part I guess.
Brown stage – Check!
White Background – Check!
Spectators – Check!
Curtains – Still need to cut and sew them to resemble the wavy curtains. Now THIS is gonna be a challenge. Lol! I’ve never sew anything since curriculum class ages ago back in school.
Other 2 band members – Although not perfect, I guess I’ll be using either Asahina and Tsuruya for the drums and another for bass. And I just thought of something, I need a spare guitar for the remaining bassist. -.-” Shit!
Drums – I saw a miniature drum kit at a flea market stall last week but it sure was expensive! Gonna drop by this coming weekend with a figure to see if the size fits. Have a feeling the drum kit might be a little too big. But crossing fingers! If not, I have nooOOoOo idea where else will I come across another drum kit.
Yellow Banner across the background – As soon as I get me some yellow papers. Lol!
One thing I don’t like is the stage being a little too big. But I kind of got everything glued together now. Stupid noobie mistake. Ruzzle-Fuzzle-Kuzzle! Gonna need some nasty sawing. *Cranks the chainsaw. BbreeeeEEeEEeeeeeeeeEEEehhhhh*
I really like the last photo, almost feel like I was there. Lol!
Oops.. Forgot to mention the reason behind the title. I was just thinking how much better the “crowd” would have looked if they were black in color. Will probably color one out to try.
First Attempt at D.I.Y. Display Box
I’ve always had access acrylic pieces and a sawing machine which we use to produce one of our goods. And I’ve been thinking how cool it would be if I had a nice looking display kit for my models. Since leaving them hidden in my closet kind of defeats the purpose I bought them. Then seeing that there was a few discarded acrylics lying around at the factory and today was an off-day at work (can someone say FFFRRRRRRREEEEEDDDDDDDOOOOOMMMMM!!!??? Lol!) I finally got my lazy arse off the chair and my eyes off the computer. Went to the factory and did my very own display box.
Funny thing is, first piece I cut and damn! Already a mistake. Lol! Had the bottom base of the box cut too short. Hence the white color piece lying across the base of the display box. To “lift” the cover so that the top will align with the the box. Else the cover will just drop inside. Lol! -.-”
What better way to take photos than to have my 2 new wai-fus pose in it. :p

Continuing off from here. We went to the movies as promised.
Being Kagami’s first time outside the box and outside the house for that matter. There was little to be surprised at her being amazed by the outside world.
Phew! Finally reached 1-Utama. Hmm! Dinner time! Got a little carried away in our choice of food. :p

Goodnight Kiss
Some friends asked me to join them for Transformers tomorrow night. And I said yes. So that’s that. Then being inspired by kodomut, I wondered if I could do any good outdoor shots. Well, actually it’s not that I couldn’t, it’s just whether if I could bring myself to do it. Seeing how I might possibly be stared at and probably even “Hissed”. But hey, only one way to find out! So opened my display section (a better word for my closet :p) and looked through whichever wai-fus I have. Lol! It’s kinda an easy picking when I only got 5. Kagami Miku it is.
Being the perfect gentleman, obviously I’d ask her if she wanted to go for a movie with me.
Kagami: Urgh… Me?
Me: Yup. I thought we could have a date tomorrow.
Then after thinking a while, she finally said yes.
Kagami: Okie. *blushes*
Me: Cool. Better get an early rest for tonight.
Just as I was about to tuck her to bed. She jumped out and…

Unfortunately, the other 3 wai-fus I had saw that, needless to say they weren’t too happy.

Tetsujin 28 soon to rock Japan
Watch out mecha fans. Another life sized mecha is going to hit Japan soon. This time it will be Tetsujin28 from the anime Tetsujin 28-Go. An anime (or the life-sized mecha for that matter) which I have yet had the opportunity to watch.

My rants..
The clothing piece around Mikuru’s waist was pretty inconvenient. They could probably gone with a 2 piece body (chest, waist to pelvic) like the other figures rather than using the current 3 peice of chest, waist, hip to pelvic. It’s because that the waist kept slipping up into the chest area and that reveals the revol-joint. That got really irritating at one point.
She is even harder to stand than Haruhi! Lol! I believe it’s due to her heavy head with the hair. So I can’t really think of a solution for that. -_-”

Woot! Woot! It’s the weekend and what does that mean?! It’s time to unwrap my loot.

Hmm. Seems to be some glue residue on one of the hands. Thankfully I was able to rub it off gently. Bad QC perhaps? Anyhow, It’s 8am now and I’m still half asleep. So less talk and lets get straight to the photos. Initially wanted to do a guitar pair with Haruhi. But changed my mind when I felt the need for something fresh.
I really like the color of the witch cape and hat. Which has somewhat of a dark purple metallic effect. Really nice!
On a sidenote, I finally know how to take better close-up photos with my shitty Fs7. By switching to “Sport” mode, the shutter speed increases and it works well with the flash timing. So from now on I’m pretty much gonna be using “Sport” mode for every picture. Lol! Just in case you wonder, I can’t set shutter speed manually. 
Overdose
Hmm.. This is a pretty bad case of compulsive buying. Was initially looking for either a Nono (Diebuster) , Nagi (Kannagi) , Saber (Fate/Stay Night) or even Tohsaka Rin (also Fate/Stay Night) figure. Instead, I ended up with figures from the one anime which I promised myself I wouldn’t indulge in. Not 1, Not 2, But 3! 3 figures which has officially KO-ed my expense portion of my salary for the rest of the month. Lol! Before you start shouting Blasphemy, I should inform you that I work as a factory layman and has a very low salary.

Sunday is Flea Market Day
Was going around a flea market and found some really good deals on animes. Even though I watched both titles before, I bought these anyway since the deal was so good and I really felt like adding them to my collection. So I got DieBuster and Boys Be for Rm5 each. Really Dirt Cheap!
Noticed the Patlabor yet? :p Yeap.. Also got myself a Revoltech figure.

As much as it pains me to say this to my first Revoltech collectible, I actually expected much more. There was good detailing, but it was the finishing which disappointed me. Some edges were obviously missed when applying paint. Although minor, it would feel like it was scratched to the rough eye. Unfortunately for you readers, I am too lazy to take a picture of it now that I have tidy up my computer table so you will have to wait until the next time I take out my camera before you can see the missed parts.
Although boasting of good articulation, I still find the body positions awkward. no matter how I tried to rotate the body parts. I still couldn’t get it to stand straight up. The feet was closest it can get and still it felt like the figure was trying to show off it’s “manliness”. How did I remedy it? Lol.. I just pose it in a way which would require both legs to be wide apart.
I’m gonna be really honest, I bent one of the guns so badly it ripped. Lol! It was a really tight gap trying to fit the gun into the hands. Way too freaking tight!
But at the end of the day, I believe you get what you pay for in the figurine hobby. So if I wanted something better, I’d better expect to pay premium. Otherwise, be content! Got to remember to think this through the next time before I confirm on a figure. :p
